Gala Games Welcomes: Jesse Hynes!
The Gala Games team would like to formally welcome one of our newest team members, Jesse R. Hynes, Esq., who is helping us navigate the complex world of legal issues surrounding the kind of pioneering innovation you’ve come to expect from Gala Games as General Counsel. We’re absolutely confident that with Jesse in our corner, we will be able to make all the right moves, say all the right things, and keep moving this thing like an unstoppable freight train toward the goal of revolutionizing gaming and changing the world together!
Not only is Mr. Hynes an accomplished and experienced lawyer, but he is an excellent fit to the fun-loving team at Gala Games. He loves gaming and sports, he is passionate about cryptocurrency since he first discovered it in 2016, and he has a powerful skill set in blockchain law, securities law, estate planning, and transactional law that make him uniquely qualified to be part of our Gala Games team.
Jesse Hynes graduated summa cum laude from Seton University with a major in honors Psychology and a minor in Business Legal Studies, after which he attended the Wake Forest School of Law. After law school, Jesse opened his own law firm, which he incorporated into his new practice by helping clients with the complex questions surrounding digital assets, taxation and ownership of cryptocurrency. Mr. Hynes could tell immediately that there would be a great need for helping emerging companies understand the often confusing regulatory issues that surround building a business that incorporates blockchain technology.
Now, Jesse Hynes is grateful for the opportunity for his passions, skills and visions for the future to coalesce at the intersection that is Gala Games. “Gaming has one of the most exciting but under the radar use-cases for blockchain. This is an exciting area where I can utilize my experience, but also have fun and help to build a once in a generation type platform,” says Mr. Hynes.
Like all of us at Gala Games, Jesse Hynes grew up playing games of all sorts. When asked about his favorite game from his younger days, Jesse had a lot to say about Pokemon.
“You can’t go wrong with Pokemon (I even named my cat Eevee). While I loved all varieties of games, I usually found myself returning to Pokemon. There was just something about how simple, but yet complicated Pokemon could be. I spent hours catching Pokemon (sometimes based on temperaments) and then EV training them by fighting specific other pokemon that would increase the stats that I wanted. Ironically for me the grind was more fulfilling than the result. Oftentimes after I created the subjectively perfect team, I would restart the game.”
It will also interest you gamers to know that we have a star athlete on our hands with Jesse Hynes! He is an avid player of Ultimate Frisbee, whose team, “Squirtle Squad” (apparently all Pokemon fans) has competed in every single U.S. Beach Championship National Ultimate Frisbee tournament. In 2017, they even competed at the national level, finishing 4th in the country!
